this constant stupid plot ruined all future tv shows with equally silly plots for me. as soon as I recognize lost characteristics I stop watching. p.s. he was stranded on a dessert Island for so long but never lost 1kg of weight..

The start of the fall of Hollywood writing. This show introduced us all to the BS trope of "Mystery Box" in JJ Abrams style, and it has plagued writing ever since because it´s an easy way for untalented writers to hook the audience, the only problem is there is almost never a pay off, or the pay off is so dumb that it ruins the rest of the story. Hollywood is dead.

There is one thing that no one will take from Lost. It was the first popular tv show that was shared and watched online and not through traditional television or cinema, albeit, it was televised but people were piracing it a lot in the internet era. I liked the tv show and it took several seasons till we realised the show is going nowhere and scriptwriters are totally lost without having a clue how to end this.

Recently binge watched Lost as it came out on netflix.. Honestly it's actually an incredible show.

that show was a sh!t test to see how little sense a story has to make to keep people watching TV.

This would have been a good show if it wasn't for all the flashbacks I think ruined it but other than that I loved the show

I am forever LOST but the scenery, the soundtrack and all the sleepless nights trying to make sense of it were worth it.

Abrams, couldn't make a decent film or a TV show if his life depended on it.

From what I understood the button was connected to an unstable rift from an experiment of the dharma initiative. So to keep the rift from reaching a critical point, you had to discharge it every 108 minutes. Otherwise it would just engulf everything? I know they used it to move the island, which in and of itself is weird. So it would be an unstable pocket of tachyon particles?

Best show ever. Watched it several times and love it each time a little more. Everything makes perfect sense.

Purgatory

After 25 episodes i stop watching it. It was going nowhere. Just make it long to keep earning money. Same for Prison Break, i stopped after 11 episodes. I am happier with stories lasting a natural cycle, like chernobil, wired, breaking bad, narcos, true detective .. they are not pushed around in circles just to make money
